American midfielder Anton Peterlin has signed for Everton, the Premier League club said.
Peterlin, 22, was playing for lower-tier US club Ventura County Fusion but impressed Everton coach David Moyes (pictured) when he had a trial at the club last season.
The former University of California and Cal Poly student player spent time at USDL club San Francisco Seals as well as the Fusion during the college off-season.
He has Slovenian and Danish parents and holds dual American and Danish nationality, meaning he does not require a work permit.
