Premier League - Sunderland snap up Campbell

Fraizer Campbell has chosen Sunderland over Hull City after signing from Manchester United for what could rise to £6 million.

The 21-year-old agreed a four-year deal after he passed a medical at the Stadium of Light.
The initial fee will be £3.5m but add-ons could see United earn almost double that for their academy product.

He spent the 2007-08 season on loan at Hull, helping them win promotion to the Premier League, and was widely expected to rejoin them permanently before new Black Cats boss Steve Bruce made his move.

Campbell, an England U21 international who missed the European Championships final after being sent off in the semi, spent most of last season on loan at Tottenham where he helped the team reach the Carling Cup final.

The terms of his loan ruled him ineligible to face the Red Devils, who won on penalties.
